SACRAMENTO MUSIC CENSUS
The Sacramento Music Census is a partnership of The City of Sacramento Office of Arts + Culture and Austin-based music ecosystem consultancy Sound Music Cities. The purpose of the Music Census is to understand the present lived experience of musicians and music industry professionals within the capital region. The Music Census will help identify specific opportunities for improvements in regulatory policy (e.g. entertainment licensing, events permitting, arts and entertainment districts), professional development programming and resources. “We all recognize that COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on the creative economy and live entertainment in particular,” said the City’s Creative Economy Manager Megan Van Voorhis. “Getting a current read on the situation in the music community will improve our ability to advance recovery in the sector on a number of fronts.”

PARTICIPATE IN THE CENSUS
You should participate in the census if you contribute any type of music-related work, with or without compensation, and you believe your skills and commitment are worthy of acknowledgment and support. This includes part-time work, rarely paid work or volunteer work, and work that is more administrative than creative. This is open to all in the industry who are 18 years or older and living in the Sacramento MSA (Sacramento, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba counties). The survey will be open until November 20th.
